Every Vote Counts
By Cheryl Semmel
The Every Vote Counts initiative is a collaborative public service project sponsored by United School Administrators of Kansas (USA|Kansas), Kansas National Education Association (KNEA) and Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB). Our goal is to encourage voter registration among school personnel, contracted staff, parents and education stakeholders prior to the 2010 general election.

You are community leaders with an incredibly important message for parents, local businesses, and other community members: investing and supporting children through quality education programs is absolutely critical.

The most promising and effective way to represent our children is to ensure that those individuals eligible to vote are registered to vote. Every election cycle, millions of voices are not heard; don’t let yours be one of them.

Each district will receive posters encouraging voter registration and directing individuals to either access the
registration form online or to pick up a form in the district or school office. We have provided a package of voter registration forms for your convenience and may be copied, as necessary. A limited quantity of Spanish posters are available, upon request.

We strongly encourage you to hang these posters in your district offices and school buildings as a reminder to education stakeholders: REGISTER TO VOTE TODAY! Every Vote Counts!
