The USA|Kansas annual convention offers quality professional development opportunities for education administrators and leaders. During the convention, administrators are able to participate in professional workshops or "learning clusters." Learning Clusters are designed to provide information on topics of general interest to educators.
On behalf of USA|Kansas, I would like to thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the 2014 USA|Kansas Annual Convention. Our business partners have been particularly impacted by the cuts to K-12 education funding in Kansas and across the nation. USA|Kansas remains committed to working with our districts and our business partners to ensure a prosperous future.

In recognizing the critical role your business plays in supporting education and the economy, we are pleased to extend this invitation to join us in 2014 for our 43rd annual convention, Administrators: Creating a Vision for Education in Kansas. This year's convention will be held January 22-24, 2014 in Wichita at the Hyatt and Century II Convention Center.
At this year's regional meetings, administrators will engage in sessions about critical issues in Kansas education, including: college and career readiness assessments, the upcoming legislative session and public engagement. Online registration is now closed for all meetings except the Northeast regional meeting. If you did not register online, you may do so on-site the day of the meeting. USA|Kansas will be sponsoring dialogue and conversation to assist you in defining the role that social media plays in your district. School districts across the state have a wide range of social media presence ranging from non-existent to up to the minute updates on what is happening in the district. Secondly, begin to develop your own Professional Learning Network via Twitter. The session will be facilitated by Kevin Case.

This event will be interactive and focused on doing! You may attend this session as an individual, HOWEVER you are STRONGLY encouraged to bring a team of educators and possibly board members which will allow you to begin to develop your social media vision, policies, procedures, and presence.

KPERS Members: Your Benefits Are Changing.

To help members and employers understand the benefit changes enacted this past legislative session, the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) has developed a special section on their website for changes going into effect in January, 2014.
Recent reports indicate that some school district firewalls may be blocking communication from USA|Kansas and some of our member associations. Sometimes, systems will see multiple people at one USD, getting the same email at the same time, as suspicious activity. To ensure that you receive communication from USA|Kansas, please provide the following information list of IP addresses to your IT departments.
