ABOUT THIS YEAR'S CONFERENCE

USA|Kansas is excited to announce that there are two pre-convention options to meet your professional development needs: A Day of Discovery with Discovery Education and The Lobby School with Bob Guyer. Our Day of Discovery will focus on technology, learning and leadership in the 21st Century. The Lobby School is designed to help administrators become more effective advocates for public education.

We will also have three keynote sessions. Our opening keynote session, on January 24, will be with Lance Rougeux and is being sponsored by our partner, Discovery Education. Now that everything is digital, mobile, and social, it is essential that we think outside the box, outside the book, and outside the classroom, when it comes to teaching and learning.

In the afternoon, Russ Sojourner will be delivering a keynote around character development and the important role that plays in college and career readiness. This session has been made possible through the Kansas Character Education Initiative with support from the Partnership in Character Education Program (PCEP) Grant.

Our closing keynote speaker on Friday, January 25, is John E. "Jack" Roberts. This session will once again be sponsored by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
